The Greater Will had a desire and this desire would soon be embodied on a star that he would send to the lands between.  The Elden Beast.

The elden remembrance describes the Elden Beast as: “It was the vassal beast of the Greater Will and living incarnation of the concept of Order.” You see, the Greater Will saw the world as chaotic, without order. And the Greater Will saw this as an opportunity to bring in His presence, his order into this primordial world. The Elden Beast, as a vassal of The Greater Will and as an incarnation of the Concept of Order would soon come to be The Elden Ring.

This collection of Runes are, in theory, the bases of what the Greater Will is and represents with its concept of Order. Though they never are truly specified by name, save for the part of the rune which holds destined death. To put it in lay man’s term; the elden ring is the circle of life and its rules if it had a physical form. The codex of life that can be altered by mortal hands. A type of new and immortal stability that wasn’t there before, now taken form thanks to the arrival of the Elden Beast upon the lands between. The Greater Will would then create around the Elden Ring a vessel to house the will and announce to all who lived in the continent that Order was now leading the fate of the Lands Between. Likely overtaking an old great tree that existed before it, the Erdtree sprouted from the ground in its primordial form and slowly shifted until becoming the behemoth that we know today.

But of course, at first, the Erdtree would not be seen with welcoming eyes. Of course, it was an invader, an intruder, the will of an Outer God that had no business being here in the first place. Yet history is always told from the point of view of the victors. As the “Protection of the Erdtree” Spell Puts it: “In the beginning, everything was in opposition to the Erdtree. But through countless victories in war, it became the embodiment of Order.”

All fell in line with the will of the Erdtree, the manifestation of the Elden Beast, of Order, in the world. Like a parasite, it absorbed and twisted everything around it for its own growth. And any who did not fall into the Erdtree’s design was looked down upon, shamed and in some cases, enslaved. The crucible knights are probably the ones who got the worse end of the deal. Their armor reads “Holds the power of the crucible of life, the primordial form of the Erdtree. Strengthens Aspects of the Crucible incantations.” Meaning that the crucible knights did the will of the primordial Erdtree, back when it was still young, slaying those who would oppose Order, yet in the end they would be shunned by the rest of the world for holding on to it’s primordial form.

Eventually (And skipping a lot of other events) order would begin to hold the land completely. It would gain messengers who would speak the will of The Greater Will across the distant lands with the Two Fingers and their Finger Maidens. Followers would gather and grow. And yet the Order of the Erdtree would not had become the Golden Order until the Greater Will picked a champion to rise to godhood, and she would change the fate of the world even more than it already had.
